- Walking or jogging burns about 100 calories per mile. (Exactly what number of calories you'll burn is dependent upon many things, including your weight and how briskly you walk.) So you'll lose a couple of pound for each additional 35 miles you walk—provided you Do not change anything about Your current eating regimen or other activities.
- If you walk briskly (at 4 mph) for half-hour five out of seven days, you'll log 10 miles per week. That means it is going to take three and a half weeks to lose a pound in case your calorie count stays the identical.
- If you alter your eating regimen and cut 250 calories a day (half a cup of ice cream or two sugar-sweetened sodas), you'll lose a pound in two weeks.
- If you eat 250 fewer calories a day and walk half-hour a day, it is going to only take per week to lose a pound. Reducing calorie intake even further and exercising more will speed up the method.
