Nordic studies show the importance of old growth forests for biological diversity

Researchers at East Finland University recurrently reviewed 99 scientific posts, comparing plants or animals of old growth forests, organized forests and cleared kites in Borel Europe. Reviewed studies showed great differences between the generations of generations in these kind of jungle.

Studies analyzed for a scientific review suggest that with the aging of the forest, complete cover of forest species increases. Clear cut sites are also wealthy in species, but they're compared to finish cover forests through a separate sets of species.

Studies examined a lot of species of groups that cover a big a part of forests and animals within the forest, including birds, epilepsy (ie growing on tree trunks, ie ie ie lychens and browns), fungus and insects, soils, soils, soils, soils, soils,

Birds, epilepsy and cookie and insects were more diverse within the old forests within the deadwood. In addition to the deadwood living, underwear plants and insects were more diverse in young forests, especially in cleared cut sites. There were some studies in regards to the soil cookie.

The characteristic of the old growth forest plants and animals is related to old or dead trees. Such species are rare or absent within the forests in industrial use.

“In organized forests, the trees are cut off before they are old or die, and thus the old and dead trees are very few. It would be an effective solution to leave a portion of the trees standing during clearance cutting, but only many of these so -called main trees are left in the crops.”

Clear cut sites are settled by open residences and young forests related to forests. The conditions for clear cut sites are very different from your entire cover forests, and thus they're largely settled in separate sets of species.

Although the plants and animals of the Clear Cut sites are wealthy in certain species of groups, they're found.

“Early stages of forest succession will probably be created without clearer kits through hurricanes like storms. Such residences are different from clear cut sites.

“Moreover, the lace phase of the succession trees is reduced by planting the contaminated, which also enforces the formation of the species of the re -produced stand trees.”

At present, there is a big abundance of residence for species in clear cut sites in Nordic countries. For old growth forest species, the situation is worse.

“To increase wood production, the forest residences are widely modified, which, in harmony with and reduce them,” says Naramo.

“Particularly old and dead trees are just abundant and versatiles in the forests that have long been unsafe, and thus there is very little space for these resources depending on the resources.”
